As a youngster I really savoured the truly amazing photographs published in the American ‘National Geographic’. Exploring the world beyond my rural boundaries in Mildura, I developed a yen to capture life in photographs.

For many years I was content to document mainly family moments or holidays. No time to take the next step and commit to building the skills, or buying the equipment I thought I needed to communicate as powerfully via images as those I’d admire in Newspapers or Magazines.

Since joining the Phillip Island Camera Club – and going digital, I’ve enjoyed the stimulation and satisfaction of learning about both my camera and myself.

Scenic shots with a story to tell, or simply those that express the beauty of nature attract me and form the main body of my work so far. Belonging to the Club has encouraged and challenged me to explore outside my comfort zone – an exciting opportunity !
